Hello Parents! Thank you for emailing your questions. We are trying to respond in a timely manner. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions so far:
Q: When does my 3rd or 4th grader come to rehearsal?
A: 3rd and 4th graders are cast as elves. They come on Tuesdays and Thursdays until the last week of January. They will learn all of their parts at these rehearsals. Tuesday rehearsals are in the gym and Thursday rehearsals are at the Oak Hills church behind the school. Charlie, Shawanda, and Santa are needed for elf rehearsals. The song in their scene is called "Happy All the Time". Charlie, Shawanda, and Santa also need to attend 5th and 6th grade rehearsals if it does not conflict with their "Happy All the Time" rehearsal.
Misty Mayfield and Cecilee Price-Huish are in charge of 3rd and 4th graders.
Q: My 5th or 6th grader has a part with a name, but isn't a lead. When do they come to rehearsal? (Darlene, Charlotte, Security, Cop, Souvlaki, teenager, etc)
A: 5th or 6th graders come to all rehearsals that ask for 5th and 6th graders and ensemble. Most 5th or 6th graders have a line in one scene, but are in many additional scenes.
Laurie Leishman, Missy Terry, and Danica Davies are in charge of ensemble scenes.
Q: My daughter is a dancer. When does she come to rehearsal?
A: Dancers are Macy's workers (which include salesperson, manager, and Santa's helper). The song in their scene is called "Sparklejollytwinklejingley". If your daughter is a dancer or has any of those parts, she is scheduled to come on Mondays and Wednesdays. Monday rehearsals will be held for dancers at the Oak Hills church behind the school. They are in additional scenes and will learn those scenes at their M/W rehearsals.
Jovie is also in the Macy's scene.
Mariana Harper is in charge of dancers.
Q: Who is included in Greenway Press?
A: Greenway Press includes Sam, Sarah, Chadwick, Matthews, Walter, Emily, Michael, Deb, and Greenway. Their song is called "The Story of Buddy." They are in additional crowd scenes and need to attend rehearsals for 5th and 6th graders. Most of their rehearsals are on Thursdays.
Diane Foster and Catherine Hess are in charge of Greenway Press.
Today is the last day to add to the cast. We need to firm up numbers and get working on costumes.
We will be posting a calendar in the hall by the office for your students to double check. Check the website frequently if you need info.
Ensemble songs with crowd scenes: World's Greatest Dad and reprise, A Christmas Song and reprise, There is a Santa Claus ending, and Sparklejolly reprise (Bows). The entire cast will learn these songs. You can listen to them on YouTube if you search Elf Jr soundtrack. We are working at putting up a link just for the music, but in the meantime, you can access it today.
Hopefully the parent volunteer signup sheet will be completed and posted today.
Thank you for your patience and don't hesitate to contact through the website tab if you have further questions.
Thank you!
